Our Plantations

What sets us apart from other forestry projects?

We will use an improved hybrid of the Paulownia species, with genetic properties optimized for the production of high-quality wood.

A New Kind of Tree:

While other species take 15 to 20 years to be harvestable, our Paulownia is ready for its first harvest in just 6 years.

Express Harvest:

Paulownia is the only timber species that regrows after each cut, allowing harvests every 2 or 3 years for more than 50 years without the need for replanting.

Continuous Regeneration:

Irrigation system

All our plantations will have state-of-the-art irrigation and fertilization systems, which will ensure the constant growth of our trees and at the same time protect us from droughts caused by climate change.

Fire protection

• One of the main risks in forest plantations is fire. That's why we developed WaterDome:  A perimeter ring with high-powered sprinklers that will activate in case of risk, shielding our plantations from fires.

Certifications

From the outset of each plantation, RUTA VERDE will work closely with companies that will audit all its processes with a view to obtaining the necessary certifications for marketing its CO₂ capture capacity and timber on international markets.
